I am writing to you in behalf of the Cavite IBP lawyers who have been complaining against those persons performing notarial duties in some parts of the province although they are not authorized as such.

It has been observed that most of them are using notarial commission other than the Province of Cavite which is clearly a case of falsification of documents. Only notaries public commissioned in Cavite may notarize documents in any part of Cavite. This nefarious activities renders most documents unacceptable in court for failure of Notarial act, and the people victimized do not know the repercussions upon their documents. The proliferation of these “notaries public” can be seen in “shanty” notaries located near or instantly accessible in most LTO offices especially in Imus, Cavite and Tagaytay City (Mahogany Market), and are contributors to the degradation of our profession.

In this connection, we are seeking your assistance to rid our province of this kind of activity. We shall appreciate you immediate action on this matter.
